How to Choose a Chain for a Pendant: Strength, Style and Fit
The best men's chain for a pendant is a solid box, wheat, franco, rope or curb chain that is strong enough for the pendant's weight and slim enough, clasp included, to pass through its bail. As a rule of thumb, use at least 2 mm for a light pendant and 3 to 4 mm or more for a heavy one.

Personalised Jewellery for Men: Engraving Ideas and What Lasts
The custom jewellery for men that lasts best carries short, deep engraving on a protected surface: the inside of a band, the back of a pendant, the inner face of a kada. Sterling Silver vs Pure Silver vs German Silver: The Difference
Sterling silver is real silver: 92.5 percent pure silver mixed with 7.5 percent other metal, usually copper, which makes it strong enough for jewellery. Pure or fine silver is 99.9 percent silver and too soft for most wear. German silver contains no silver at all; it is a copper, nickel and zinc alloy.
