A search for a jewellery gift for men under 25000 rupees mostly returns marketplace listings under ₹1,000 and gift lists that put jewellery next to earbuds and perfume. Neither tells you what real metal and real stones cost. This guide does: what each budget from ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 actually buys in solid silver and diamonds, where the money goes inside the price, and how jewellery compares with the usual alternatives at the same spend.
What does ₹25,000 buy in men's jewellery?
Under ₹25,000, your money buys solid 925 sterling silver, and in the upper half of that range, silver set with small real diamonds. It does not buy much gold. The reason is the metal rate, not the shop.
At the time of writing, the IBJA benchmark rate for the morning of 9 October 2026 put fine (999) silver at ₹2,21,170 per kilogram, about ₹221 per gram, and 18K (750) gold at about ₹11,200 per gram, both before GST and making charges. Rates move daily and IBJA publishes none on weekends or holidays, so check the day's figure before you compare quotes. Even so, the proportion holds: ₹25,000 is worth well over 100 grams of silver metal, but only about 2 grams of 18K gold. A man's gold band typically weighs several grams, which is why gold gifts in this budget tend to be very light.
| Budget | What it realistically buys | Stones? | Size needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under ₹5,000 | Plain silver band, small pendant, silver rakhi | Rarely, at most a tiny accent | Only for rings |
| ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 | Plain or textured silver band, slim chain or bracelet | Rarely | Rings and bracelets |
| ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 | Heavier silver band with a finish, a silver bracelet | Small accents possible | Rings and bracelets |
| ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 | Silver band with a row of diamonds, a diamond stud, a diamond-set pendant, lapel pin or keychain | Yes, natural black or lab-grown white | Rings only |
Where does the money go in a silver gift?
In a silver piece with diamonds, the metal is usually the smallest part of the price. Most of what you pay is the stones and the work of setting and finishing them.
A worked illustration, using the rate above: a 15 gram sterling silver band contains about 13.9 grams of fine silver, worth roughly ₹3,000 at ₹221 per gram. If that band sells for ₹20,000, the remaining ₹17,000 or so covers the diamonds, the hand setting, casting, polishing, design and the seller's margin, plus 3 percent GST. That is not a scandal; it is what separates a set band from a plain one.
Three consequences for a buyer:
- Weight matters most on plain silver. For an unset chain or band, compare the price per gram across shops.
- Stones and setting matter most on diamond pieces. Ask whether the diamonds are natural or lab-grown, how many there are, and how they are set.
- GST is 3 percent of the whole value. It applies to gold, silver and diamond jewellery including the making charge, and it was left unchanged in the September 2025 GST rate changes.
Jewellery gifts for men under ₹5,000
Under ₹5,000, buy plain sterling silver and keep it small. A thin band, a small pendant on a cord, a silver rakhi or a simple stud for pierced ears. Lab-grown diamond accents occasionally appear at this level, usually as a single tiny stone.
What to avoid: "German silver" (an alloy with no silver in it), silver-plated brass, and anything without a stated purity. At this budget, a plated piece will look better in the photo and worse in three months.
Jewellery gifts for husband under ₹10,000
Between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000, a solid silver band or a slim chain is the strongest gift. A plain band with a brushed or textured finish looks more considered than a polished one, and hides daily scratches better.
If you do not know his ring size, choose a chain or a pendant, which need no size. Our men's jewellery gifting guide explains how to borrow a ring size without spoiling the surprise.
Gift for husband under ₹15,000 and ₹20,000
From ₹10,000 to ₹20,000, silver pieces get heavier and more detailed, and small diamonds start to appear properly. This is the range for a statement silver ring, a solid bracelet, or a band with a few stones.
Between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000, a single diamond stud, a diamond-set lapel pin and a diamond-set keychain all become possible in sterling silver. Pins and keychains are the best choices for a husband who does not wear jewellery, because he will use them anyway; our guide on gifts for a husband who doesn't wear jewellery covers that case.
Jewellery gifts for men under ₹25,000
At the top of this budget, a sterling silver band set with a row of natural black diamonds or lab-grown white diamonds is the classic choice. Black diamonds read as a dark, quiet line; white lab-grown diamonds give the familiar sparkle at a lower price than natural white stones.
Other strong options at this level are a diamond-set pendant on a chain, a lapel pin for a man who wears jackets and bandhgalas, and a single diamond stud for pierced ears. For gifts above this budget, see our guide to luxury gifts for men in India.
A quick way to choose between them is to look at what he already carries every day:
- Wears a watch: a slim silver bracelet for the other wrist.
- Wears jackets or bandhgalas: a lapel pin, which needs no size.
- Wears a ring already: a band, sized from the ring he wears.
- Has pierced ears: a single stud.
- Wears nothing at all: a keychain or a pendant he can keep under his shirt.
Jewellery vs other gifts at the same budget
Gift lists at these budgets lean on smartwatches, earbuds, perfume and wallets. They are fine gifts, but they behave differently over time.
| Gift at ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 | Typical life | Value after five years | Personal? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid silver jewellery | Decades with polishing | Keeps its metal value; can be passed on | Can be engraved |
| Smartwatch | A few years of software support | Low | Rarely |
| Wireless earbuds | A few years of battery life | Very low | No |
| Perfume | Months | None | Choice of scent only |
| Leather wallet | A few years | Low | Can be monogrammed |
Jewellery is the only item on the list that is still worth something as material, and the only one likely to be handed down. Its risk is fit and taste, which is why size-free pieces are safer for a first gift.
How to check you are getting real silver and real diamonds
- Look for the 925 stamp on the piece and "925 sterling silver" on the invoice.
- Understand silver hallmarks. Silver hallmarking in India is voluntary. Under IS 2112:2025, a hallmarked silver piece carries the BIS mark with the word SILVER, the purity grade and a six-character HUID, as set out in the PIB release on silver hallmarking. Many genuine silver pieces carry only a 925 stamp.
- Ask natural or lab-grown. Both are real diamonds. Lab-grown stones cost much less and have little resale value; the seller should state which you are buying.
- Get the weight. A gram weight on the invoice lets you compare like with like.
- Read the return policy. Engraved and made-to-order pieces are usually non-returnable.

| Piece | Metal and stones | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Core Rakhi | 925 sterling silver, lab-grown white diamonds | ₹4,500 |

| Sentinel Rakhi | 925 sterling silver, no stones | ₹9,000 |

| Sovereign Lapel Pin | 925 sterling silver, lab-grown white diamonds | ₹20,600 |
| Union Band | 925 sterling silver, lab-grown white diamonds | ₹20,900 |
Nothing in the ready-to-wear range sits between the plain rakhis and the diamond pieces at ₹18,000, which mirrors the market: that middle band is where plain silver chains and heavier bands live, and AXIOM's pieces start where stones come in.
Pieces are dispatched within 15 to 21 days of the order. For a Diwali or birthday gift, order early and confirm timing with AXIOM through the contact page.
The practical takeaway
Under ₹25,000, buy solid silver and spend the rest of the budget on stones and making, not on a gold label. Choose a size-free piece unless you can borrow his ring, ask for the gram weight and the stone type in writing, and leave three weeks or more before the occasion if the piece is made to order.
